With Nitmiluk tours you basically have two main options: rent a two or single person kayak which is A LOT OF FUN! Obviously you want to make sure you are physically fit enough to complete this task but if you do then its a blast! You paddle upstream for a bit, (Not entirely sure of the distance but its can't be more than a mile which isn't bad at all) and then you beach your kayak there is a WONDERFUL swimming hole to spend your time.

My girlfriend and I decided on taking the Boat Tour which is the second option. The Boat Tour goes further into the canyon and you get to see many awesome cliffs, crocodiles and its definitely a comfortable journey.

If you weren't already aware Northern Australia goes through its WET season closer to November, December and January which means no tours are being held during these times. We went on this tour in October which seemed like a great time.

Did the 2 hour boat cruise. The driver was very informative and interesting. Ramp down to the boat then up river we had to change boats due to low water level; we had to walk about 300 m along a well maintained footpath with some steps and small rocky areas. There was drinking water on the boat. You get to see huge cliff faces, some small beaches, freshwater crocodiles (if you are lucky) and picturesque waterfalls.

In retrospect I would have liked to have taken the Kayak Tour and gone swimming with my friends but all in all a wonderful place to visit.

Did a two hour cruise, which was excellent, if expensive. Amazingly beautiful scenery, chance to see freshwater crocodiles basking in the riverside, some rock art and quite an informative guide.
